Non-perpendicular vectors are added by scale drawing

- When two vectors are not at right angles, use a scale drawing to find the resultant.
- Triangle method: link the vectors head-to-tail, then draw the resultant from the tail of the first to the head of the second.
- Parallelogram method: link the vectors tail-to-tail, complete the parallelogram, and the diagonal is the resultant.
- Measure the length of the resultant with a ruler and convert using the scale.
- Measure the angle with a protractor.

- Exam questions may ask you to draw to scale, so bring a ruler and protractor.
- Always convert your measured length back to the correct units using the given scale.
